This safe is not Fort Knox, and it's not attempting to be. It's perfect for its intended use: as a secure place to store small items and documents that you don't want to fall into the wrong hands. Metal is thicker-gauge than I had expected it to be, and the safe is actually quite heavy----probably 15-20 pounds. Comes complete with little key hangers on door and colored key tags so you can sort and identify keys easily. Also came with small clear accordian envelope, which is nice for easily sorting important credentials and documents (passport, birth certificate, SS card, credit cards not in use, etc.). Unfortunately, the keypad & lock mechanism protrudes quite a bit into the interior of the safe, consuming much of the middle-shelf storage area. But this thing works and looks great once installed. No one is taking anything inside unless they really know what they're doing (with electronic safe-picking or key-hole picking) or have a sledgehammer and crowbar to take out the wall. Comes with adhesive-backed velcro strips so you can store items upright inside the safe (sticking the strip to the safe wall and wrapping around the item in question). Even includes little foam cushions to cover the shelves. I would order another if I had more things to store securely.

The box is not square, the spot welds stick out, by the time you've cut the hole enough to get the box in, the flange isn't big enough to cover the hole...better get a professional installer. Reputation isn't timeless, Stack-On has really let the quality slide...

The safe came in 3 days after I ordered it (a little sooner than expected), quality was as advertised. The installation took about 45 minutes and it works just like it is supposed to. There was an electrical line behind the wall I installed the safe in but there was plenty of room for the wire beside the safe. A big thanks to the reviewer that mentioned where the key hole was located, without him I'd never of found it. I am totally satisfied with the product.

I needed more of these but was concerned by bad reviews I had read. The bad reviews I read indicated the packaging was bad causing the product to get damaged and that it was constructed out of cheap easy to open steel.
I am very happy with this product. The steal is a heavy and strong as I expected and the packaging is fine. I spent $250 for the same size wall safe that didn't look as nice and had a much cheaper 5 push button combination lock. This safe has a full keypad combination lock.
the only draw back is that it didn't come with any padding. I had to put down some old socs to avoid my gun resting on the rough steel of the box.
I highly recommend this product.
